For her client, KNCV Tuberculosis Foundation, Dux International is looking for a
Member of the Board of Trustees
KNCV Tuberculosis Foundation
KNCV Tuberculosis Foundation (KNCV) is the world’s leading tuberculosis (TB) expert organization. Exclusively dedicated to fighting TB, KNCV’s mission is to end human suffering due to TB through the global elimination of tuberculosis. TB claims 1.4 million lives annually. KNCV’s vision is to save lives and accelerate the decline of and end the TB epidemic through the development and implementation of effective, efficient and sustainable, setting specific strategies that combine patient-centeredness with epidemiological impact.
KNCV was established in 1903 to lend a strong voice to TB control in the Netherlands and globally. As founding member of the International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease in 1920 and the Stop TB Partnership in the year 2000 and with World Health Organization (WHO) non-state actor status since 2018, KNCV is a valued member of the global TB community. Equally important, KNCV is working with partners in countries to generate evidence on innovations and new approaches for TB elimination. KNCV uses this evidence to inform international policy development and to support National TB Programs and other health stakeholders to take forward international recommendations and local evidence to design, pilot and scale-up locally appropriate patient-centered strategies to eliminate TB and save lives.
Over the past century KNCV has played an important role in TB elimination in the Netherlands with research, surveillance, policy development, capacity building, quality assurance and patient support. Abroad KNCV has built capacity in over 40 countries to improve access to TB prevention, early diagnosis, treatment and care for patients with any form of active or latent TB; strengthening governance and management of the TB response and empowering patients and communities for TB elimination. In the coming decade, KNCV’s goal is to reach the targets of the global END TB Strategy and the health-related Social Development Goals (SDGs). Along these lines, KNCV is evolving a broader spectrum of interests, including TB related conditions or diseases like anti-microbial resistance (AMR).
